DIESELHOUSE
Copenhagen-based industrial heritage center showcasing the evolution of technology...
Here, industrial heritage takes center stage. Surrounded by a huge Diesel engine dating from 1932, this large red building topped by an enormous chimney presents the evolution of this technology, which rendered the steam engine obsolete. It was developed by German engineer Rudolf Diesel (1858-1913). We also take a closer look at how Copenhagen meets its energy needs. Finally, a visit to the B&W factory, a forge and foundry founded in 1843, which is both a shipyard and an engine manufacturer (models).
