BLÅGÅRDSGADE
Multicultural pedestrian street lined with cafés, halal butchers and boutiques, leading to Blågårds Plads.
Probably the nicest street in this working-class neighborhood. Pedestrian and multicultural, this street parallel to the Peblinge Sø led to a castle where, it is said, the demented king Christian VII indulged in debauchery evenings... Cafés, halal butchers and more or less alternative shops line this road that leads to Blågårds Plads, which is invaded by terraces on sunny days. Since 1916, the central square has been adorned with sculptures by Kai Nielsen representing sixteen characters at work: butcher, shoemaker, carpenter, fisherman... and accordion player.
