The Independence of Art above all. This is what the Free Association of Danish Artists, founded in 1891 to protest against the conditions of participation in the Charlottenborg exhibitions, in reference to the French "Salon des refusés". Installed in this wooden pavilion, highly inspired by ancient temples and decorated with a relief representing Pegasus, it continues to exhibit free artists.
