NIVÅGAARD MUSEUM (NIVÅGAARDS MALERISAMLING)
A temple to the arts built near a manor house by Johannes Hage, a (staunchly conservative) politician and philanthropist.
Farming leads to everything, including the collection of paintings from various European schools, as long as one has a personal fortune. This was the case of Johannes Hage (1842-1923), the owner of the house, who was also a politician (a conservative) and philanthropist, but who liked to present himself as a farmer. He had what he called a "temple of art" set up in a building built in 1903 near his manor house, and refurbished several times.
