This abbey, founded in 1151 by monks of the order of Cîteaux, is listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Entirely built in brick, it stands on the banks of Lake Esrum. Restored and open to the public since 1997, it illustrates the life of Cistercian monks before the Reformation. Temporary exhibitions, concerts and walks in the park, also classified as a "national landscape" and medicinal herbs. Pleasant restaurant, the Møllecaféen and shop on site.
