GRAND HÔTEL D’ABIDJAN * * *
Neo-colonial-style hotel offering spacious rooms with air conditioning, TV and wifi.
Opened in 1956, this hotel has welcomed Houphouët-Boigny and de Gaulle, among others. The neo-colonial building, located at the end of a cul-de-sac (not very inviting in the evening), has 80 rooms spread over 5 floors, overlooking the lagoon front on one side, and the garden and towers of the Plateau on the other. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped (air-conditioning, TV, wifi), renovated in 2014 with lagoon-side balconies, despite cramped bathrooms that leave much to be desired. The rather good restaurant opens onto a garden with a soothing water wall.
