The largest private clinic in Abidjan, PISAM began in 1985 and long formed a sub-regional hospital care reference. The decade of politico-military crisis, however, has severely affected the activities of the first Uemoa health facility and seriously damaged its reputation. It is in this context that PISAM has undertaken a comprehensive «regrooming» since 2014, beginning with improved medical analysis, resuscitation, radiology, LDC (medically assisted procreation) and increasing the number of medical personnel. Rehabilitation work, begun in 2016, aims to double the capacity of the institution (from 116 to 226 beds) and to provide state-of-the-art services: hospital information system enabling better patient monitoring; complete diagnostic service with latest generation equipment including a 1.5 T high-field MRI and 64-bar scanner; operating blocks to international standards (IS 05 and IS 06); unit of interventional radiology; new hospital services to avoid saturation; establishment of a radiotherapy center and day hospital for maximum ambulatory care. At the time of writing this guide, the work was still underway and PISAM gradually improved its performance. This private clinic has a few very good specialists, but the service can sometimes suffer from some neglect, especially at the level of reception (a classic in the hospital, once again, Côte d 'Ivoire is far from an isolated case in this matter) and the settlement of benefits (long and tedious).
