Created in 1930, Abidjan's municipal zoological park is today a Noah's Ark adrift due to a lack of financial resources, despite its partial renovation in 2021. All too few visitors can be seen marvelling at the sad-looking animals in micro-cages that would have failed the Madagascar casting.
