Food may be fine for non Indians and so this comment and experience may not apply to ones nor well versed with Indian food. It was without any taste or flavor! No salt even and so lets not get to other spices. Asked for pickle but they didn’t have any! Gave some tomato chutney which was supposed to be a little spicy but sadly it was not. Asked for some lime/lemon hoping that will revive the dishes but alas that was not to be! The deconstructed samosa chaat was so basic and little in quantity that charging more than 10 euros for it is too much! Same goes for the papad! Garlic naan was fine! Service is fine but we could not offer our honest response in person as other guests were too close and it wouldn’t have been fair to them to hear our views. Extremely overpriced for what you offer! Would highly recommend those with basically sound expectations of Indian food to avoid this place or at least carry your own achaar to compensate!

The service was good. but the food was just ok, I expected a lot more for the high price and some reviews. But I have to say that what really bothered me was the volume of the music, which was very loud throughout the entirety of our dinner.

I’ve been coming here since 2004 and I’ve never left a review. It’s my go to spot in town for very reliable service, great food and a wine list that would put anywhere to shame!

Chose this restaurant to eat in for our one night in Dublin and it did not disappoint. It was hard to pick what to eat from the menu as there are so many delicious options. I chose a traditional Nepalese curry and my partner had the lamb biriyani. We also tried the baby chilli squid and garlic naan bread. All were delicious. We wish we could come back here and try more from the menu! They also have the largest wine menu i’v ever seen. Service and atmosphere were great.

All nice, excellent dinner

It's only the tastiest restaurant in Dublin. Possibly the whole island. Food is served on little gold plates and the staff are super friendly and helpful.

N'a de népalais que le nom. Conseil du serveur pour un plat qui s'est révélé sans goût et sans saveur. Personel peu avenant alors que les gens du pays sont adorables. En plus, les tarifs sont excessifs. Non recommandés.

Have been eating here for years. One of the best places to eat in Dublin. A1 service, phenomenal wine list. Spectacular food. Don't miss it if in Dublin. Goat curry recommended

“Curry will finish before Bread” is the highlight of restaurant.
They have one curry per adult policy, for a group someone might think of food wastage but portions are so small that curry will finish before naan.
Food taste is ok, In starter they gave Aloo mattar sabji.. this was quite surprising for someone who is from Indian subcontinent.

Atmosphere is below average, it’s like 90s functional hall in a basement.

Heard positive reviews from friends but overall it was just OK nothing special.

It's just ok, but expected more from such high reviews. Food tasted fine but not great. At next table (of 4) I heard them told "policy is everyone must order a main", which I've never heard before. Quantity of food was little low, I was on expenses so had starter, main, rice and bread, which normally would be too much, but here wasn't and I actually ran out of curry before naan which never happens. Comparing to Thai I just got at Dublin airport, one third the price, no contest.

Volveremos.

Mooie setting, vriendelijk personeel. Het eten was ok maar nogal smaakloos. Ik miste vooral het duidelijke smaakpallet dat de Indische keuken kenmerkt.

It’s good but not as good as it used to be. They’ve really pared back on the mungling dal bhat. Wine has soared in price and it was hard to get the waiters’ attention. Overall a disappointing return

So sad to leave this review after more than 9 years being a loyal customer.
We were rudely greeted (coming with a reservation, we were 7 minutes earlier, not even late). The restaurant was half full and their service was very poor, for everything. We have seen this restaurant at full capacity and the quality never dropped. They used to be very attentive with keeping an eye on our table, timely delivery of orders and drinks but they almost didn’t show at our table and only wanted to rush us out of the place. They wouldn’t even wait for the starters to be finished to bring us the food. They got our order wrong. They also forgot our desert and instead of bringing it, they brought the bill… and wanted to charge us the full amount, including the desert.
They used to have a very nice touch of offering a drink on the house after the meals, and they of course never offer that either.
Going to Montys was a great experience for us, we really enjoyed it but unfortunately the quality dropped so much, in such short time as well… it is sad because it was a great place but now it seems they only have rude staff who wants you out right away.
Portions are smaller than what we remember as well.
Wouldn’t recommend it anymore, and after all these years of being a customer here… I don’t think I’ll be back…

Fabulous food and service. From start to finish, the flavours made us travel to Nepal, this place is a gem.

Surprisingly rude staff. I brought my mother and her partner here following glowing recommendations. She asked for menu recommendations and was just blankly told that everything is nice. Ordering process just felt very rushed and kind of uncomfortable. No help on the wine list either despite it being extensive and kind of overwhelming for people who don’t eat out very often. But the food was very nice.

Good restaurant

Really good food but quite pricey. We shared a starter, had a main each and two glasses of wine for 100 EUR. Service was super friendly.

My takeout experience from this restaurant was disheartening. Despite the glowing reviews, the vegetarian momos were not only overpriced but also a significant letdown in terms of taste and portion size. Spending close to $40 for 8 pieces felt like a waste, and I had to enlist friends to help finish the meal. A regrettable experience that didn't live up to the hype or the high cost. One star, sadly.

Food is delicious. It's a joy to eat there as a coeliac. They are really aware of cross contamination and bring different poppadoms for me to enjoy.

Food was not bad, (nothing special for a veggie curry and Nepali momo) but quite pricy in my opinion.
