Here the email sent after our visit, without meet of course!
'Having discovered a brochure in Honfleur, we do the trip (1h20) to visit the " musée" yesterday.
What a surprise that this visit!
You start with L '' welcome that you can at least described as 'rapid'. That does not seem to impassion young woman who wins out!
On the website, during the description of the visit, you can read: 'Finally, this visit would not be a visit of chocolate without its traditional tasting!'
This tasting gives so desire matches the moment, first of all, one of 'then sales' a packet of " chocolat" ???! It was not as that which saw the thing!
Inside: a drakkar, specialty. OK and its history? What is it? Nothing is explained.
And 3 chocolates in the broad bean. It is what you call tasting??? When does the site speak edge banks, specializes in Calvados, chocolate of Bayeux etc.????
Then comes what the site calls: 'A film takes you on a journey on the cocoa plantations of Sao Tome'.
Without mentioning the poor quality of the film and the size of the television (from the last benches, you will not see much), we talk about text.
You imagine that the children will be many to be brought by the parents. It is well for we came. And the film is subtitle FR/GB. One must read film all the time to them! Therefore some read in the FR children; others in GB. The hubbub does not allow you to appreciate this film!
On the website, one announces then: " And through the window of the laboratory, you can even see the making of the " drakkars" live!. "
This part of the visit has been beautifully eluded by the young lady of hospitality, we ask the question.
Well not to my poor lady! The laboratory is on holiday! You will see nothing!!!!
The most interesting part is therefore casa side without introduction and of course after your money.
Then comes the time to see the museum that is said: 'By visiting this area of 350 square metres, you will have the answer to your questions about the history of chocolate and its development.'
We have the impression to have seen that dent and for the historic scenes: what a sad!
For example, where one has a small handbag 'built by our laboratoire" the channel... is broken!
Where still the opening of the first shops where a young woman in costume of time is surrounded... cartoons from Easter to the 1990's!
And the pompon: 'In the space that is dedicated to them, the children will try to recognise the smells of the flavours which usually mixes cocoa'.
Full of disappointed promises...!
A pity!
That does not even deserve a star indeed having seen what they call a museum, tasting consists of only one biscuit. For the paid price, you thought of having a tasting of real chocolate. Feeling rooked, bought nothing.
