FORMER CONVENT OF THE AUGUSTINES (CULTURAL CENTRE)
Former convent with chapel, cloister, refectory, and dormitory, now a cultural centre and hosting various events in Orbec.
Previously, there was a game of paume here. But in 1632, Claude-Alexandre de Brevet, daughter-in-law of Josias Bérault, a great jurisconsult, famous for his commentary on the Normandy Custom, decided to found a convent here with a chapel, cloister, refectory, and dormitory. Then, the monument was used successively as a school, a grain store, a cinema, before becoming in 1983 a cultural centre, where exhibitions, conferences, and cultural events are organised today.
