ORBIQUET MILLS
The Orbiquet River is the fourth most powerful spring in France, and the first in the north.
The Orbiquet River gave its name to Orbec. With its important flow of 450 litres per second, which makes it the fourth most powerful source in France, and the first one in the north, it favoured the construction of many mills: the Petit Moulin not far from the church, the Grand Moulin today destroyed which was located in the rue des Moulins, the Ponts de Pierre and Madeleine mills, the knife mill on the Vespière stream, or the Beauvoir mill which was used to tear rags. A site of one hectare to discover!
