Museum retracing the history of the "Vieux Manoir", the town of Orbec and the traditions of the Pays d'Auge.
A visit well worth your while, if only for the magnificent 16th-century timber-framed house, listed as a Monument Historique, which has housed the museum since the 1980s. Known as the "Vieux Manoir", it once served as a wealthy tanner's business on the first floor, and as a home on the first floor. As well as retracing the history of the building, the museum offers visitors a fascinating insight into local history, traditions and the art of living in the Pays d'Auge, in the unusual spirit of a cabinet of curiosities.
