OUISTREHAM-RIVA BELLA BEACH
A beautiful sandy beach in Ouistreham, perfect for families, fishing, and water sports enthusiasts.
Summer or winter, the beautiful Ouistreham-Riva Bella beach, with its three kilometres of fine golden sand, has nothing to envy the Côte d’Azur. Its gentle slope makes for safe bathing. Ideal for family vacations, it’s also very popular with anglers, as the sea retreats some two kilometres during high tides. Riva Bella beach is named after the first "Belle Rive" villa, built in 1866 by a corset manufacturer from Caen. A visionary, he was quickly emulated, as evidenced by the architectural heritage of the preserved villas.
The beach, which until the 19th century was a place of dunes and promenade, is now equipped with numerous leisure and wellness facilities, as well as a cycle path. With just the right amount of wind, the beach is also a popular spot for water sports (windsurfing, sand yachting and kitesurfing) and horse riding. On Sundays, the seawall, a popular place for conversation, welcomes walkers who come to breathe in the fresh iodine air or enjoy the sunset.
The fragility of the Ouistreham-Riva Bella beach dunes requires everyone’s attention. Please take care to use the existing paths through the dune massifs to reach the beach, without damaging the vegetation or disturbing the fauna. It’s a pity that a fee has been charged for access to the beach...

L'été avec cette longue plage de sable, on n'est pas les uns sur les autres comme en Méditerranée.
Le seul bémol, le stationnement y est devenu payant avec l'arrivée du nouveau maire de la commune.
