Romanesque style church housing a masterpiece by Giovanni Canavesio.

Now restored, this picturesque little Romanesque church, just outside the center of Pigna, is full of charm! Inside, it houses a masterpiece by Giovanni Canavesio: frescoes depicting the Passion of Christ, dated 1432. Canavesio painted the same frescoes a few years later in the sanctuary of Notre-Dame des Fontaines at La Brigue in the Roya Valley. Admire the painting of the flagellation: the movements and precision of detail bring the scene extraordinarily to life.
