DUOMO D'IMPERIA
Neoclassical style building preserving paintings and frescoes by different artists.
This grandiose construction stands out among the buildings of Porto Maurizio. The work began in 1781 and was not completed until 1838, delayed by the collapse of the dome in 1821. The neoclassical façade is preceded by a pronaos with Doric columns decorated with 17th century statues. Inside, there are paintings and frescoes by various 19th century artists. It is one of the largest religious buildings in Liguria, with external dimensions of 70 by 42 metres, for a total surface area of 3,000m2.
