Church in Imperia, a magnificent testimony of the Ligurian Baroque.
A magnificent example of Ligurian Baroque, the collegiate church, built between 1739 and 1762, is crowned by a central dome and smaller lateral domes; the interior is divided into three naves by pilasters, with richly decorated frescoes (19thcentury ) and a marble tabernacle by Pace Gaggini (1510). Outside, a few meters above ground, three French cannonballs, reminders of fierce fighting, have been embedded in the wall since 1792.
