CHIESA DI SAN PARAGORIO
Church taking its name from Saint Paragorio whose relics it preserves, a martyr who fled from Corsica.
This11th-century church is one of the most significant and best-preserved examples of Romanesque art in Liguria. According to legend, the church takes its name from Saint Paragorio, whose relics it preserves, a martyr who fled Corsica and died in Liguria. Three apses turn their backs to the sea, while the beautiful portal looks out over the hill. Inside, you'll admire a superb dressed wooden crucifix and an ambo (Bible stand), both from the Romanesque period. Remains of14th-century frescoes decorate the walls. Not to be missed!
