MELIA
Successful conversion of the former headquarters of a large company into a high-class hotel with all the comforts of home.
Located in the elegant Carignano district, the Hotel Melia is a fine example of converted industrial architecture. It was once the headquarters of Ilva, one of Italy's largest steel companies. The imposing marble facade is a reminder of this. Today, the 99 designer rooms are decorated in shades of copper, platinum and titanium, and all feature wooden floors and marble bathrooms. A 5-star hotel with lots of style, far from the tourist hustle and bustle of the historic center.

It is set in a quieter part of the city but still only 20 mins walk from the Marina and 10 minute walk from the main shopping district.
The food and drink in the restaurant is sound but the choice is a little limited for younger guests. However they are happy to adapt dishes a little.
In summary, i'd say it is one of the best hotels in Genoa for that price. With the biggest standout being the staff; all incredibly friendly which made the hotel feel warm and welcoming.
