In Camogli, thousands of fish are fried in the public square in a festive atmosphere.

In Piazza Colombo in Camogli, every second Sunday of May, for Saint Fortunato, patron saint of fishermen, thousands of fish are fried in a huge pan of 4 meters in diameter (for 3 tons of fish in one day!). These fish are distributed free of charge to all the participants of this beautiful festival, locals and tourists alike! This culinary event is spectacular and convivial, and it attracts a considerable crowd of visitors to this former fishing village, now a marina.
