ACQUARIO DI GENOVA
In the heart of Porto Antico, a marvelous testimony of biodiversity, with about 15,000 animals and 600 different species.
Built in 1992 on a project by Renzo Piano and Peter Chermayeff, this liner-shaped building houses the second largest marine park in Europe. Its goal? To familiarize a large public with the most unusual marine species and to raise awareness of the fragile balance of the marine world. Here live 15,000 animals and more than 200 species of plants, spread over 70 basins! You can admire fish from all over the world, from moray eels to groupers, starfish, jellyfish, rays, seals, manatees... not forgetting dolphins, sharks and cetaceans.
