MUSEO D'ARTE ORIENTALE
Art museum nestled in a romantic setting with an extensive collection of Meiji period art.
Nestled in the romantic setting of the Villetta di Negro park, with its magnificent views over the city and waterfall, the Museum of Oriental Art will be of great interest to art lovers. It boasts a vast collection from the Meiji period. Paintings, sculptures, prints, enamels, lacquers, bronzes, samurai armor, musical instruments, tea ritual objects, costumes and fabrics were donated to the city by the Genoese engraver Edoardo Chiossone (1833-1898), who spent the last twenty-three years of his life in Japan.
