MUSEO GIANNETTINO LUXORO
At the eastern end of Nervi Park, the villa, surrounded by greenery, was built in 1903 on the model of the Genoese palaces of the 17th century. The interiors decorated with stucco and frescoes have been designed to accommodate the Luxoro family's art collections. Remaining without heirs, the last representative of the lineage donated both the villa and its contents to the City of Genoa.
During the visit, the family's preferences for 17th and 18th century decorative arts are evident. For the furniture of the house, they are rather local production pieces of the 18th century. In the various rooms, you will find a collection of clocks and pendulums, porcelain, silverware, santons and antique fabrics (embroidery, damask, velvet, brocade of extreme finesse). Several masterpieces complete the collection, including works by Alessandro Magnasco, beautiful seascapes from northern Europe and a collection of more than 200 drawings and prints.
