VIA SAN LUCA
Straight road connecting the city to the westbound road in Genoa.
This is the medieval caruggio dritto, a straight road linking the city to the west. Now pedestrianized, along this ancient artery with its old-fashioned charm, you can admire sumptuous palaces despite the narrowness of the street: Palazzo Spinola (atno. 14), Palazzo Centurione (atno. 2), Palazzo Pallavicino (Piazza Fossatello, 21), Palazzo Grimaldi (atnos. 84-88) and Palazzo Salvago (atno. 12). Despite inevitable deterioration, many of these buildings have preserved beautiful sculpted portals and traces of frescoes.
