PIAZZA DELLA VITTORIA
The most successful example of modernist architecture in Genoa.
Linked to the Piazza de Ferrari by Via XX Settembre, the Piazza della Vittoria is Liguria's most successful example of modernist architecture. The long string of arches celebrating the victory of the First World War, the Arco dei Caduti and the staircase leading up to the Mura Cappuccine all contribute to the harmony of the whole. This is one of the city's main traffic-dense nuclei, but it's well worth contemplating the play of perspectives that, through the Arco, lead the eye towards the Carignano hill.
