Magnificent museum of the navy with collections as old as they are precious. Among the rare pieces, those gathered by Emmanuel Philibert of Savoy for the Arsenal of Villefranche-sur-Mer in the 16th century. One can admire a marvelous collection of weapons, model ships, uniforms and pieces essential to the understanding of modern navigation. Some of the pieces come from the battle of Lepanto (1571!), but the most extraordinary objects in the museum are the 28 figureheads of ships, including one bearing the effigy of Sissi.
