AREA ARCHEOLOGICA DI LUNI
An important archaeological area that is worth a visit for its small museum and its fairly well preserved amphitheater.
Luni was once a rich and important city, whose port played a vital role in trade between northern and southern Italy. Definitely condemned between the eleventh and twelfth centuries, it was abandoned by its inhabitants, and gradually fell into ruin until it was completely forgotten.
Today, the rediscovered site is an important archaeological area that deserves a visit, especially for its small museum and for its well-preserved amphitheater.
