CASTELLO DI LERICI
Castle with a beautiful Gothic chapel dedicated to Sant'Anastasia
Its construction in a strategic position on the bay began during the wars between the maritime republics towards the end of the 12th century. The victorious Pisans built the first core, later reinforced by the Genoese, who built the pentagonal tower, the main body and the ramparts. A final intervention in 1555 gave it its final appearance as a fortress, often used as a prison over the centuries. Inside, a beautiful Gothic chapel dedicated to Saint Anastasia. Today, the castle is a venue for exhibitions.
