SAN VENERIO
Go there and contact
Every year, in mid-September, a popular event celebrates the memory of the hermit San Venerio, who lived the last twenty years of his life on the small island of Tino, in the early seventh century. Today it is a military zone, no longer inhabited, so the island is exceptionally open to the public on this day, the feast of the patron saint of the Gulf of La Spezia. It is therefore possible to visit the ruins of the 11th century monastery, with its Romanesque cloister, if you are in the area at that time of the year.
