ISOLE DI TINO AND TINETTO
cURL error
These two small islands, off the coast of Portovenere, form the La Spezia archipelago with the island of Palmaria. Tinetto is just one of the reefs, where the ruins of an ancient medieval monastic building can still be seen. The lush green island of Tino is owned by the Italian navy, so it is forbidden to land there, except on the occasion of the feast of San Venerio on September 13, to visit the remains of the ancient monastery built by the Benedictines as early as the 11th century and dedicated to the hermit Venerio, patron saint of the Gulf who lived and died on the island.
