Sanctuary preserving a niche from which a liquid with thaumaturgical virtues would gush out.
The sanctuary, built on earlier foundations, dates back to 1293. Built in the Romanesque Latin cross style, the right nave features a niche from which a liquid is said to have healing properties. Inside, a painting of the Black Madonna and Child, known as the African, is also venerated, traditionally attributed to the apostle Saint Luke. More likely, it was painted by a Genoese school in the 14th century.
