HISTORIC DISTRICT
This part of town is home to half-timbered houses with typical Pays d’Auge architecture.
Pont-l’Evêque is definitely not lacking in assets! It is all around the rue de Vaucelles that you will plunge into the 17th century! Thanks to the colouring of the half-timbering, from azure to sinople, this typical district of the town, rehabilitated at the beginning of the 2000s, offers to admire houses with typical architecture of the Auge region, with half-timbering, beautiful slate roofs, small doors and lovely windows. Traditional in the region, the wooden frame, also called pan de bois, is presented in various forms, with cob or tile roofs.
