PLANER HORSA
Life-size replica of the Horsa assault glider, displayed in the Pegasus Memorial Park.
Gliders were used extensively during the Second World War. In particular, the Horsa, manufactured by Airspeed at the time, was the most widely used glider. Today, only a single example of this aircraft remains, carefully preserved in the museum in Middle-Wallop, England. For the 60th anniversary of D-Day, a full-scale replica was built and displayed in the Pegasus Memorial Park. Fragments of the original aircraft, collected by collectors, can be seen inside the museum.
