Away from the beaten track, here's an address like no other, both discreet and picturesque. From the terrace to the dining room, everything is meticulously small and terribly pretty. So small, in fact, that chef Virgilio's menu is based solely on market arrivals, since he doesn't have room for large stocks in his kitchen. Depending on the day's ingredients, his wife Larisa will serve you a golden fritto misto overflowing from her dish, a delicious seafood risotto or scallops with asparagus.

Best tagliata I’ve had so far in Italy, with veal. Actually the best pasta. Cuttlefish ink pasta was awesome. Tuna steak was extremely generous and was unreal. Venetian style fish platter appetizer was unique and very good. We liked the sea asparagus and sardines in that platter. We had the house white wine and it was an excellent pairing with our meal and was very clean and smooth. This place should be packed but there were only a few people here, very intimate experience. We also liked the fish with orange sauce. Amazing service, and the food came out quickly too. Felt like a mom and pop restaurant in a wonderful way. Finished with limoncello and a wonderful cappuccino.

Simply a great meal. I have been coming to Venice for years, I've been to many many restaurants, all highly recommended. This was the best meal and restaurant I've been to. Small, not formal setting. The waiter, only one was lovely, not fawning but straightforward and lovely. The food was wonderfully cooked. Scallops and courgette with pasta to start, then sea bream with orange sauce and tuna steak, then tiramisu. These dishes are available elsewhere but not like this, delicately cooked and flavoured a beautiful balance of flavours. Just reminded me of what good cooking and a good restaurant should be. ( Very nice inexpensive house wine too) Thanks.
