HOTEL PALAZZO GIOVANELLI
The hotel offers spacious, elegant rooms with every comfort, most of which have a balcony with a view of the Grand Canal.
Hotel Palazzo Giovanelli, housed in a 16th-century palace, once the patrician home of the Foscanrini family, welcomed Mozart and his family during their stay in Venice. It has spacious, elegant rooms with all comforts. Many of them have beamed ceilings and a balcony with a view of the Grand Canal or overlooking the inner garden. The spacious lounges, decorated with polychrome marble and elegant Italian furniture, are illuminated with beautiful Murano glass chandeliers. Excellent service.

I absolutely love the level of service this hotel offers. The employees exhibit a level of professionalism I have rarely, if ever, seen. We did our first get lost in the labyrinth that is Venezia walk, where every ten minute excursion turns to a 30 minute wandering adventure of wonderment. I digress.
We came back from our small adventure and found ourselves taken care of immediately at the lobby “bar”. Giovanni came from behind the reception desk and engaged us friendly and curiously, Valentino brought us coffee, wine and green olives specific to the Veneto region. A sailor and entrepreneur. He wouldn’t let us lift a finger. Amazing!
The hotel, flawlessly clean, lordship like. The bellman took us to our room, we were brought champagne two minutes later with an appreciative smile from Oxana (sp?) for having chosen this small 30 room(ish) delightful hotel.
We arrived via the airport on a motoscafo (boat) taxi where the bellman greeted us refusing to let us touch the luggage. Service here is alive and well. So very rare! The chains wouldn’t touch this level of service at three times the cost.
When I woke up this morning Filippo welcomed me with a warm coffee and a great smile then went to work checking up on me often. You can’t teach that level of customer care. I believe it to be innate in one’s character.
As I sipped coffee, looking at my blank computer screen, the breakfast chef came in shaking off the cold and light fog greeting me pleasantly.
The rooms are perfectly organized and ample despite the challenges presented by century old architecture unseen in the US.
Palazzo Giovanelli a choice well played for my Venetian moment. Ben fatto! Vi ringrazio! A presto. Spero che il mondo impari come si fa da voi!
Shout out to Giuliano and Fillipo. You both are amazing genuine people I can call friends!
