HÔTEL SATURNIA * * * *
Hotel located a few steps from Piazza San Marco and the Chiesa San Moise that offers rooms with all the necessary comforts.
The Saturnia is an institution in Venice! Located near St. Mark's Square, recognizable by its orange façade, this 4-star hotel has been managed by the Serandrei family since 1908. Its 90 rooms and suites are tastefully decorated and offer first-class comfort (bathrooms with bath and shower, minibar, flat-screen TV, wifi). The hotel also has a spa and a rooftop terrace with a dream view of the historic district. One more word: the bar of the establishment was frequented by Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre.

Some things to note:
-If you’re arriving by train, take line 1 on the public water bus to the Giglio stop. It’s just a brief walk to the hotel but you do need to go over a small bridge so you will need to lift your luggage.
-Private water taxi is crazy expensive, however, if you need to leave in the middle of the night on no sleep I thinks it’s worth it. The hotel handles everything, you just give them the cash. Also, really cool experience to take the private taxi through Venice in the middle of the night. If you do go this route and have a 6:45 am flight, wait to leave the hotel until 4:00 am. We left at 3 am, got to the airport around 3:35, and couldn’t even check in until around 4:30. Get the extra hour of sleep!
-bring ear plugs. Around 5 am you’ll start to hear people in the canals doing their jobs.
