CHIESA DI SAN CASSIANO
Church with a remarkable campanile and various works of great value in Venice.
The present church of San Cassiano dates back to the XIX century, but its bell tower is still the same as the original medieval church. It overlooks one of the most picturesque campi of the town, with its carved curbstone and canal. There are several works of great value (Bassano, Schiavone, Tiepolo) and behind the high altar, a painting of Tintoretto, The Resurrection of Jesus, with St. Cassian and a beautiful St. Cecilia (patron saint of musicians) playing the organ, where, rarely, musical instruments are represented.
