A church of Romanesque and Byzantine styles, one of the oldest religious buildings in Venice.
One of the oldest religious buildings in Venice, this church features a sober Romanesque exterior and a richly decorated ceiling, blending Byzantine influences with 15th-century contributions. The interior features a 6th-century green granite column from Roman Byzantium. It also houses one of the few works by Lorenzo Lotto in Venice, the altarpiece called Pala di San Giacomo dell'Orio, as well as paintings by Palma il Giovane and Veronese.
