A small bridge rich in history in the city of Venice.

Ponte delle tette, not heads... but nipples! In the 16th century, this was the heart of the legal brothel district. Courtesans would stand in the windows or on the bridge, exposing their breasts to attract customers. This practice was encouraged by the Republic to divert men away from homosexuality, which was repressed at the time... Convictions for homosexuality could lead to decapitation between the columns of Piazza San Marco. Today, this little bridge recounts an unusual page in Venetian history.
