PALAZZO MUSEO FORTUNY
Palace presenting the laboratory workshop of Mariano Fortuny exhibiting pleated silk dresses and a collection of photographs.
Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo (1871-1949), a renowned Spanish artist, is best known for his Art Nouveau-inspired textile creations. He was also the inventor of a famous lamp bearing his name, decorated with pleated silk and Murano pearls. In the early 20th century, Fortuny set up his workshop in the Palazzo Pesaro, which, after his death, was bequeathed to the city in 1956. Today, it houses a museum as eclectic as Fortuny himself, where you can admire his extraordinary gowns and photographs by this visionary couturier, decorator and sculptor.
