It is the largest place in Venice, it represents the city's tourist and historical centre. However, the influx of tourists has made it increasingly abandoned by the Venetians. Le coeur de la Serenissime
Si vous n'avez qu'une journée à passer à Venise (c'est très insuffisant), il faut rayonner autour de cet endroit qui a été le coeur politique de Venise pendant 1 millénaire. Les principaux endroits à visiter sont à 2 pas et il y a forcément du monde, même en "acqua alta" (cf photo). De nuit c'est aussi beau et photogénique.

Cette place est vraiment Magnifique. Je conseille d'y aller tôt le matin avant l'arrivée des nombreux touristes, pour apprécier tout le charme de cette place.
Éviter par contre les cafés de la place où les chocolats chauds sont au prix fort.
