SCUOLA GRANDE DEI CARMINI
Scuola with the ceiling of the second floor decorated with paintings by Giambattista Tiepolo, the last to obtain the designation of great in Venice.
Founded at the end of the 16th century and redesigned a century later by Longhena, this scuola had up to 75,000 members and was the last to be called " great" in Venice. The building that housed the headquarters of the brotherhood of the Vergine del Carmelo resisted both Napoleon and the Austrians... Admire its facade, of an astonishing finesse. Take an interest in the ceiling of the second floor, sublimated by nine paintings signed by Giambattista Tiepolo (1739-1749).
