TEATRO DUSE
Theater inside the castle of Caterina Cornano in Asolo.
Built in 1798 on the site of the old council chamber of the Republic of Venice, inside the castle of Caterina Cornaro, the theater was rebuilt by the architect Martinengo in 1857. In 1930, the complex was dismantled and sold to an American circus owner who had it rebuilt, piece by piece, in Florida. Inaugurated in 1932, the new theater has seen on stage the most illustrious representatives of contemporary Italian theater, including Vittorio Gassman and Dario Fo, as well as Eleonora Duse (1858-1924), to whom it pays tribute.
