MUSEO CANOVA
Museum on the hills of Asolo, known for its gypsotheca or collection of plaster casts of Antonio Canova and his other works.
On the hills overlooking Asolo, the town of Possagno boasts one of the most unusual sights in the region: the gypsoteca (collection of plaster casts) of Antonio Canova, considered the last of the great Italian sculptors. The building, which he himself built, was conceived as a neoclassical temple with a circular plan. It contains more than 360 original plaster casts. Nearby are the artist's birthplace and two annexes. These now house a more diverse art exhibition, including paintings and drawings.
