VAL DI CANZOI
It is a simple circuit around Lake della Stua, in the middle of one of the most famous valleys of the Park. The nature trail is characterized by the main Dolomite outcrops as well as the obvious traces of the action of rivers, quaternary glaciers and karst phenomena. Several small side valleys in continuous evolution have formed above many flaws. The vegetation landscape is very varied: forests of charm-hops and beech trees at the foot of the mountains, Scots pines in the drier slopes, meadows, rocky outcrops and slide corridors colonized by pioneering plants. Along the course, there are several rare or particularly significant plants, such as Silene veselskyi, Asplenium seelosii, Rumex lunaria, yellow lys, Adenophora liliifolia, or black hellebore. The perennial forests host many species of passériformes, while meadows, especially in the spring, are frequented by deer and sheep sheep. The Torrent stream and lake della Stua are commonly populated by the wagtail of the streams, the plongeur plongeur and the toads that, by hundreds, reach the lake from the wooded shores all around.
Position. The right and left bank of the Torrent torrent, from the town of Preton to the Pian del Goso, north of Lake della Stua.
