PALAZZO JACOBI SOLERO
Palace dating from the seventeenth century that was the residence of Taddeo Jacobi, captain of the cernides, the volunteer troops of Cadore.
Next to the palace of the Magnifica Comunità, this historical palazzo is not to be visited and can be admired simply from the public space. Probably dating from the 17th century, it was the residence of Taddeo Jacobi (1753-1841), captain of the Cèrnide, former militia of Cadore. Jacobi was also ambassador in Vienna. Napoleon appreciated his intelligence and culture so much that he invited him (but without success) to work in Paris. Jacobi's dedication to researching the history and culture of Cadore led to his being considered the first regional historian.
