PALAZZO JACOBI SOLERO
Palace dating from the seventeenth century that was the residence of Taddeo Jacobi, captain of the cernides, the volunteer troops of Cadore.
Next door to the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità, this historic palace, which probably dates back to the 17th century, is not open to the public. It was the residence of Taddeo Jacobi (1753-1841), captain of the Cadore militia and ambassador to Vienna. Napoleon, admiring his intelligence and culture, invited him to work in Paris, but without success. Jacobi's dedication to researching the history and culture of Cadore earned him the reputation of being the region's first historian.
