Very narrow alleys, designed to hang fishing nets and dry them.

Once upon a time, Saint-Aubin was a fishing hamlet... Saint-Aubin is famous for its promenade dyke, but also for its typical alleyways. Very narrow, leading down to the sea, they were designed to hang fishing nets, allowing the wind to rush in and dry them out. Sometimes rectilinear, sometimes extravagantly winding to become a covered passageway, the alleys of Saint-Aubin are a must for anyone wishing to discover the village of yesteryear...
