Hotel with terrace and restaurant, close to Old Street and the British Museum, offering a view of London and brunch.

We love this modern, friendly boutique hotel. The 59 bright, colorful rooms offer guests a warm welcome. Each room is decorated in a different way, with a painting here and a fleece rug there. Some rooms even have a terrace with a panoramic view over London. The Zetter is the perfect destination: trendy yet accessible and not at all pretentious. The staff are friendly and helpful. A really good address, very well located, close to Old Street, the British Museum...

This is a lovely quiet spot that is slightly tucked away. A great place for a date night with drinks and nibbles. It’s quite quirky, went here just before Christmas on this occasion but have been here a few times. It is best to book as it is only a small venue. Cocktails are delicious and the food is good although would be nice to have a slightly larger selection. It does also have a fireplace which is lovely on a could evening. The service is good, staff are friendly and chatty but they are not extremely attentive and you can often be hanging about a while between orders. The atmosphere is great though and well worth a visit if you are in the area.

So visited Zetter for cocktails on a Saturday evening.
Really nice cocktails - definitely a good old fashioned- classic one
Quirky interiors & nice cosy bar
Service needs to improve as there were delays in service of cocktails
Reasonable prices too
Great ox tail croquettes too
Summary - lovely bar to kick off an evening
Budget- 2 cocktails each £50-£70 per couple
Verdict 4.5/5

Fantastic boutique hotel with a beautifully appointed sitting area. The bar is fantastic and the staff is very welcoming.

We went for afternoon tea and it is honestly one of the most underwhelming experiences I've had living in London.

The food was insultingly meagre for the price and didn't taste as you would expect either; offering dreadful value for money.

I opted for the 'Hearty Treats' menu and it is completely mis-sold. I received a single pig in blanket, the toastie was the size of less than half a standard sandwich and the other two items were also of no substance.

My partner had the finger sandwiches which tasted very salty and were again unsubstantial.

It is standard practice that guests receive replenishments at afternoon tea, however when we requested this we had to ask two more times until we got an answer; where we were told this would not be possible. How can you take people's hard earned money and give them so little in return? For reference I'm a tall man with slender build (78kg), and average appetite which was left entirely unsatisfied.

The deserts were disappointing too; each one barely a mouthful - with a Christmas pudding flavoured macaroon (who's idea was that?!), a bland strawberry Swiss roll and minuscule entremet that had melted by the time it was served - again rather bland. The scones were rather dense but tasted fine.

Having been to afternoon tea at the Zetter, we felt cheated and cannot recommend it. Save your money and go to the one in the National Gallery - similarly priced, great views and even better food. Fortnum and Mason's also offer a superior afternoon tea that's more affordable than the Zetter, which is effectively charging over £50 for two pots of tea, 5 small cakes and a sandwich in a gloomy setting. Criminal.
