LIVET IRON MINE MUSEUM
Museum of the old Soumont-Potigny iron mines, where you can learn about the daily lives of miners
You'll have to wait for fine weather to visit this interesting museum. The Carreau du Livet, a remnant of the former Soumont-Potigny iron ore mines, closed in 1989, is of great historical and heritage interest. Guided by former miners, discover the "salle des pendus" (as the huge checkroom was called), the shower-baths, the lamproom in its original layout and many other witnesses, such as the road descent that took employees 650 meters underground.
