THE HOUSE OF LIBERATION
An address retracing the history of June 6, 1944, to be discovered in Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer.
Passionate about history, Sébastien Olard has created a unique place of remembrance to pay tribute to the civilians, resistance fighters and soldiers who died during the D-Day landings on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. In this house, the first to be liberated on that day, he has recreated an authentic Normandy bedroom from the 1940s. Here we discover poignant testimonies, projections, secret documents and the moving stele dedicated to the missing paratroopers. Thanks to Sébastien and the association Les Fleurs de la Résistance, these little-known destinies are brought out of the shadows in this house that bears witness to the dawn of freedom regained.
